Includes material on the presidential elections of 1824-1832, especially regarding John Calhoun and William Crawford; the Illinois gubernatorial elections of 1826-1830, with emphasis on William Kinney and John Reynolds; American Indian affairs, particularly the Potawatomis and the Wabash Saline; the Galena Advertiser; the Burr conspiracy; the War of 1812 in and around Illinois Territory; and the Black Hawk War.
